September 2021

(The SEED bulletin includes personal testimonies to demonstrate the power of the Gospel to change lives, with the hope that the Holy Spirit would touch and encourage the reader through them, and hopefully share with others that do not know Christ.)
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
– Acts 1:8

UPDATES FROM NAKIRIA & LORUGUM ZONES

Image

In late August, the SHARE Team traveled 65 miles southwest of Lodwar to the previously unreached village of Locher-Elim in Lorugum Zone to plant a church. Earlier in August, a team searched for villages that had not yet been reached with the Gospel of Christ in this area. Motivator Enos Lomorukia had identified Locher-Elim Village as unreached.
After evangelism, screening The Jesus Film, and other ministry events, a church was planted!  A total of 174 people attended the screening with 59 of them giving their lives to Christ, and 6 of them were baptized. A total of 196 people attended the ministry teaching times, and 89 people were present for the first church service in Locher-Elim Village! Below are pictures from this joyous event.

Lighthouses are continuing to grow in the Zone. There are now 33 Champions leading Lighthouses with 231 Disciples attending. The 33 churches in Lorugum Zone that have been established through SHARE are ministering to 2,717 believers! These churches are led by 7 SHARE Motivators, Abraham Lokuwom, Enos Longoli Lomorukai, Peter Esinyen, Moses Ng’akipi, Ayengyen Atoom Eloiloi, Samuel Aiyo Lomarani and Silas Ekai Ekomwa. Abraham Lokuwom, is the pastor of 9 different churches, with a total congregation of over 1,400! Please keep these men in your prayers as they continue to spread the Gospel and plant churches within the Zone. Below is a testimony of how God met Dorcas in her time of need.

Through SHARE, 43 churches have been established in Nakiria Zone, ministering to 2,260 believers. The 12 Motivators in the Zone continue to minister to these churches and to other villages nearby. In August, 12 people became Christ followers! No baptisms were held, as there is still a shortage of water. The Motivators have now discipled and trained 43 Champions, who are leading 47 Lighthouses with 513 disciples in attendance! Within the next couple of months, Motivator Philip Asuroi will be leading a survey to an unreached village for a possible church plant, and Champion Daniel Ekai will be leading a new church plant in Nabulon Village!
Church attendance has been inconsistent due to the many villagers who are moving to a new area for the fishing market. Also, many others are still migrating in search of food and water for their livestock during this drought season. This makes it challenging to disciple these people. Despite these challenges, Lighthouses are continuing to grow, and disciples are sharing the Word of God with their friends and neighbors, as depicted in the story below.

The Impact of the Audio Bible

My name is Elizabeth Asuroi Ejure. I live in Nachamae Village in Nakiria Zone and fellowship at Kapua Baptist Church. I am a Champion of a Lighthouse. I enjoy listening to the Word of God on the Audio Bible. It speaks of many good things that bless our hearts. When I play the Audio Bible for my friends who come and visit me, they feel the same way. I turn on my Audio Bible when visitors drop by, so that they can hear the Word of God. Some are delighted to hear the Word and ask how they can get an Audio Bible for themselves so that they can listen to the teachings on their own.

There are still many people who have not heard the Word of God. Through my Audio Bible a few more have heard. I play the Audio Bible whenever I can, so that those who may not have heard the Bible can hear God’s Word and respond.

GAP Analysis: The team has been traveling in a 30-mile perimeter around Kapoeta Town, sometimes on foot and sometimes on motorbike. They have identified an additional 19 unreached villages. The total identified unreached villages is now at 33. The team plans to group the villages into 3’s and minister to 3 villages during each trip. Currently, they are doing homestead-to-homestead evangelism and developing relationships with the villagers that will lead to sustainable evangelism, discipleship, and eventually church plants!
The team has had a very positive experience during their contact with the Toposa people so far. Within the first 2 weeks in Toposa, they had already reached more villages than planned! During homestead-to-homestead evangelism, 28 people accepted Christ and pledged to share the Gospel with others in their neighborhood. This has greatly encouraged the team! They are planning to revisit these new converts after the initial survey is complete. The 15 motorbikes that were purchased for this team have arrived in Lodwar. Once the bikes have been inspected, they will be dedicated, commissioned, and handed over to the Toposa Team. In fact, that might have already occurred!
