July 2022

May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.

– 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

This month, SHARE conducted two Short-Term Outreach & Relief Mission (STORM) trips in Turkanaland. These are the first STORM trips since 2019, due to COVID halting trips in 2020 and 2021. A total of 43 believers from the U.S., along with our staff, participated in the mission trips. The teams ministered in a total of 6 remote villages, including 2 where they spent the night and planted a new church! They witnessed many villagers come to a saving faith after learning about our Lord and Savior for the very first time! The first team – from Covenant Church of Naples, Florida – returned to the U.S. on July 17th. The second – a combined team of participants from Galena Bible Church of Galena, Illinois; Turning Point Community Church of Lubbock, Texas; and The Bridge Community Church of Ruston, Louisiana – return to the U.S. today (July 29th). You will notice this month’s SEED bulletin is shorter than usual, this is due to our dedicated, hard-working staff being out in the mission field and/or accommodating the STORM teams. Be on the lookout for an official update on the STORM trips in next month’s SEED!
STORM Team 1

On June 13-17th, the SHARE Team, along with 4 area Motivators, visited 4 remote villages in Kalemng’orok Zone. During these visits, they screened The Jesus Film, held open-air meetings, conducted ministry teachings and DMM training, distributed foodstuffs, and even planted a new church! A total of 685 villagers attended the screenings, where 216 accepted Christ as Savior. A total of 397 people attended the ministry teachings to men, women, young men, young women, and children, which resulted in another 72 converts. The grand total of people who became followers of Christ during this 5-day outreach is 288. The villagers were so grateful that the SHARE Team came and taught them about Jesus and how to share their new-found faith with others.
There were 193 members during the very first church service in Lochor-edome Village. Eight believers were baptized after the service. Two believers volunteered to become Champions. They will now be trained and start their own Lighthouses, teaching the other members how to make disciples of others. Motivator Rose Ekudo will oversee this newly planted church and train the 2 proposed Champions.
There are now 30 active churches in Kalemng’orok Zone overseen by 13 Motivators and 7 Evangelists. Nearly 2,000 believers attend these churches regularly. The total number of Lighthouses in the Zone is now at 109, with 554 disciples attending. We praise God for the evident spiritual growth and multiplication of disciples happening in this Zone!

There are nearly 5,000 young women attending church regularly throughout the SHARE-planted churches in Turkanaland. Migration of believers continues to greatly affect consistency of attendance and Lighthouse meetings. However, there are 125 young women who are leading Lighthouses, where they are teaching disciples how to make disciples of others! Another 395 young women are involved in Lighthouses; learning how to share their faith with others. In June, 153 of these disciples successfully led others to a saving faith in Christ!

The Next-Gen Sending Center in Lomilmil Village, Kalobeyei Zone is complete! This is the 2nd of the 14 proposed Sending Centers; it’s ready to be used for educating children and training them to be disciple-makers. The 3rd Center is underway in Nakoros Village and should be completed by the end of August. We are so grateful for the generosity and commitment of the donors to ensure all the Centers are built and the Next-Gen Initiative become a reality! Praise the Lord!
