MARCH 2021 EDITION

I want you woven into a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then you will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God’s great mystery. All the richest treasures of wisdom and knowledge are embedded in that mystery and nowhere else. And we’ve been shown the mystery! I’m telling you this because I don’t want anyone leading you off on some wild-goose chase, after other so-called mysteries, or ‘the Secret’.
– Colossians 2:2-4 MSG

Motivators in Lokori Zone, like David Koriang, Robert Ekalale, and David Ekaran, are continuing Sunday services, DMM training, and homestead-to-homestead evangelism. There are currently 22 churches, 30 Lighthouses, and 30 Champions active in this zone. A total of 150 disciples attend the Lighthouses and are learning how to share their faith with others. Disciples are leading new members to join Lighthouses. Motivators are grateful for the Audio Bibles that were delivered in February, that they can now distribute to disciples.
The area is still in a severe drought. Believers are praying rains will come to bring some relief.

Lighthouses are thriving in Nakiria Zone as new converts join every week! Currently, there are 41 Lighthouses with 36 Champions leading. The 247 disciples are eager to learn more and share their faith with others. In the coming months, a few Lighthouses in outlying villages will become full-fledged churches.
In February, the evangelism teams planted two new churches, in Lodetek and Kakim villages!  A total of 61 people placed their faith in Christ, and 36 were baptized! Motivators and Champions continue to teach the DMM curriculum, conduct group fellowships, do homestead-to-homestead evangelism, screen The Jesus Film, and take care of the poor in the villages. They are grateful for the new supply of  Audio Bibles that they received and are handing them out to the Word-thirsty disciples to aid them in their Christian walk.

Testimony

ImageMy name is Nelly Alimlim. I attend church in Katapakori Village, Chokchok Zone. Before coming to Sunday School, I did not know anything about church. My job was to look after the young animals for my parents. One day, when I was taking the animals to water, I overheard someone teaching children what it meant to obey their parents. I wanted to hear more, so I walked closer and sat under a tree a short distance away; I did not want to get too close. When the teacher was finished teaching, I quickly scurried away.
The next Sunday I took the animals for water at the same place. This time I left my flock to graze and drink and joined the other children. After that, I continued to go to Sunday School. At that time, my parents did not attend church, but they do now. They have since accepted Christ as Savior, and so have I, and now we attend church regularly.
I thank God that I am now a changed person. God has taught me to respect and obey my parents.

In early-March, a 5-day Adult Literacy (AL) Training Seminar was held at the SEND Center in Lodwar. A total of 30 Adult Literacy teachers from 7 of the 10 Zones traveled to Lodwar to learn new teaching techniques and to be encouraged in the work that they do.
Topics covered included: Methods of Teaching DMM Curriculum to Adults, Psychology of Adult Learning, Effective Evaluation in Adult Learning, Adult Curriculum Development in Teaching, and Human Relationship & Communication Skills.
The teachers went back to their respective villages encouraged and equipped. They will continue to teach more adults not only how to read and write, but, more importantly, how to share the Gospel with others.
