Located on the northeastern shores of Lake Turkana, Koobi Fora – popularly known as the Cradle of mankind – has one of the longest living histories on earth. This is the site where Turkana Boy, a 1.5 million-year-old skeleton of a boy, was discovered in 1984 by a Kenyan fossil collector named Kamoya Kimeu.
