    In April 2021, SHARE commissioned Philip along with 14 other missionaries to begin outreach to the Toposa people of South Sudan. Philip is originally from Toposa but had been living in Turkana, Kenya. He has served as an evangelist, Sunday School, and Bible study group leader.

    2023

    November

    In November, Philip returned to share the Gospel in Napei-ngoroko, Nadoket, and Nangorom Villages. He also shared the Gospel in Kop, Nachulobo and Lokipapa Villages and 2 more people accepted Christ. He is encouraging them to use their DMM tools, especially spending time listening to the Audio Bible so that they can share what they learn with others. Five audio Bibles were distributed this month. Philip is working with 3 Champions who have started Lighthouses in 4 villages and they have 28 disciples attending. Philip is praying that the Toposa Champions will grasp what they have learned at the DMM training so that they will share Christ effectively with others. He is also grateful for the rains that have come.

    October

He also shared the Gospel in 3 other villages: Kalokipapa and Nachulobo Villages with 2 people accepting Christ. He is encouraging them to listen to the Audio Bible, share their testimony with others, and join Lighthouses nearby. Philip is  training 3 believers how to start their own Lighthouses. Three Lighthouse have been established in 3 villages with a total of 24 disciples attending. A major challenges in this area are scarcity of clean water. Philip is praying that the Toposa Christians will continue to grow in their faith and share their faith with the family and friends and that the established Lighthouses would grow. He also asks for safety as the team travels as their are conflicts on the road between the Toposa and Buya tribes.

    June

    In June, Philip returned to share the Gospel in Napei-ngoroko, Nadoket, and Nangorom Villages. He also shared the Gospel in 3 other villages: Nabeker-Minit, Nateleng and Nachulobo Villages. The villagers were eager to hear the message again and 6 more people accepted Christ. He is encouraging them to listen to the Audio Bible, share their testimony with others, and join Lighthouses nearby. Philip is  training 2 believers how to start their own Lighthouses. One Lighthouse has been established in Napeingoroko Village. Six Audio Bibles, 3 DMM Bookmarks and 2 hard copy Bibles were distributed this month. A major challenges in this area are scarcity of clean water. Philip is praying that the Toposa Christians will continue to grow in their faith and share their faith with the family and friends and that the established Lighthouses would grow.

    May

    In May, Philip returned to share the Gospel in Napei-ngoroko, Nadoket, and Nangorom Villages. He also revisited 2 new villages: Nabeker-Minit and Nachulobo Villages. The villagers were eager to hear the message again and 6 more people accepted Christ. He is encouraging them to listen to the Audio Bible, and share their testimony with others. Philip is still training 4 believers how to start their own Lighthouses (discipleship groups). Four Lighthouse Groups have been established!  Ten Audio Bibles and 4 DMM Bookmarks were distributed this month. Some major challenges in this area are scarcity of clean water, and illiteracy. He is praying that the Toposa Christians will continue to grow in their faith and share their faith with the family and friends and that the established Lighthouses would grow.

He is encouraging them to listen to the Audio Bible, and use the DMM tools that they were given to share their testimony. Philip is still training 4 believers how to start their own Lighthouses (discipleship groups). Six Audio Bibles and 3 DMM Bookmarks were distributed this month. Some major challenges in this area are scarcity of clean water, cattle raiding, illiteracy, and famine. He is praying that the Champions will be able to lead Lighthouses shortly and that the Gospel message will continue to spread in Toposaland. He is also grateful for the rains this month.

The villagers were eager to hear the message again and 5 more people accepted Christ. He is encouraging them to listen to the Audio Bible, and teaching them how share their testimony. Philip is still training 4 believers how to start their own Lighthouses (discipleship groups). Three Audio Bibles and 2 DMM Bookmarks were distributed this month. Two people accepted Christ this month. 3 believers are being trained how to start their own Lighthouses (discipleship groups).  Some major challenges in this area are scarcity of clean water, cattle raiding, iliteracy and famine. Philip prays for peace among them and the neighboring tribe.

    In April, Philip continued sharing the Gospel and developing relationships in 3 Toposa villages – Napei-ngoroko, Nadoket, and Nangorom. 6 people accepted Christ as Savior this month. 3 believers are being trained how to start their own Lighthouses; they should be forming Lighthouses soon.  Some major challenges in this area are scarcity of clean water, cattle raiding, and famine. Philip prays for peace among them and the neighboring tribe.
