    In April 2021, SHARE commissioned Philip along with 14 other missionaries to begin outreach to the Toposa people of South Sudan. Philip is originally from Toposa but had been living in Turkana, Kenya. He has served as an evangelist, Sunday School, and Bible study group leader.

    2023

    April

    In April, Philip returned to share the Gospel in Napei-ngoroko, Nadoket, and Nangorom Villages. He also shared the Gospel in 2 new villages: Nabeker-Minit and Nachulobo Villages. The villagers were eager to hear the message again and 5 more people accepted Christ. He is encouraging them to listen to the Audio Bible, and share their testimony with others. Philip is still training 4 believers how to start their own Lighthouses (discipleship groups). Three Lighthouse Groups have been established!  Ten Audio Bibles and 2 DMM Bookmarks were distributed this month. Some major challenges in this area are scarcity of clean water, cattle raiding, illiteracy, and famine. He is praying that the Toposa Christians will continue to grow in their faith and share their faith with the family and friends and that the established Lighthouses would grow.

    March

    In March, Philip returned to share the Gospel in Napei-ngoroko, Nadoket, and Nangorom Villages. The villagers were eager to hear the message again and 5 more people accepted Christ, none were baptized. He is encouraging them to listen to the Audio Bible, and use the DMM tools that they were given to share their testimony. Philip is still training 4 believers how to start their own Lighthouses (discipleship groups). Six Audio Bibles and 3 DMM Bookmarks were distributed this month. Some major challenges in this area are scarcity of clean water, cattle raiding, illiteracy, and famine. He is praying that the Champions will be able to lead Lighthouses shortly and that the Gospel message will continue to spread in Toposaland. He is also grateful for the rains this month.

    February

    In February, Philip returned to share the Gospel in Napei-ngoroko, Nadoket, and Nangorom Villages after taking the month of January to return to Turkana to visit family. The villagers were eager to hear the message again and 5 more people accepted Christ. He is encouraging them to listen to the Audio Bible, and teaching them how share their testimony. Philip is still training 4 believers how to start their own Lighthouses (discipleship groups). Three Audio Bibles and 2 DMM Bookmarks were distributed this month.     In May, Philip continued to share the Gospel in 3 Toposa villages – Napei-ngoroko, Nadoket, and Nangorom. The reception has been good, and people needed God’s Word and were ready to listen. Two people accepted Christ this month. 3 believers are being trained how to start their own Lighthouses (discipleship groups).  Some major challenges in this area are scarcity of clean water, cattle raiding, iliteracy and famine. Philip prays for peace among them and the neighboring tribe.

    In April, Philip continued sharing the Gospel and developing relationships in 3 Toposa villages – Napei-ngoroko, Nadoket, and Nangorom. 6 people accepted Christ as Savior this month. 3 believers are being trained how to start their own Lighthouses; they should be forming Lighthouses soon.  Some major challenges in this area are scarcity of clean water, cattle raiding, and famine. Philip prays for peace among them and the neighboring tribe.
