Young Women’s Ministry

Forced Marriage Rescues

Missionary James Apak Kaliban was sent by Share International to preach the Good News to men, women, and children in Kangkukus Village, Sopel Block. As a missionary, James has rescued several girls who have fallen victim to forced early marriage.

Regina and Esther are two young girls who were forced to marry older men, but were rescued by James and the church. The Share International Girl’s Empowerment Program has mentored and taught the girls to be leaders in their church.

As more schools are built, more young girls have the opportunity to have an education, but there are still many young women who haven’t been given the chance to learn. In the Turkana culture, women get married at a young age and spend their days caring for children, cooking, and even building their homes.

With the help of Share, the young women throughout 583 Turkana villages have heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Join us in prayer as we seek to reach more young women for Christ!

As these girls journey into womanhood, we can show them that God will be with them through every step!

It’s because of your prayers and financial support that ministries like these are possible. It costs $2,000 to reach a remote village with the Good News of Christ and plant a church. Please consider partnering with us to reach the remaining 253 unreached targeted villages in the shortest time possible.
