    Updates from the field:

    2023

    November

    In November, Amos revisited Chori, Lokwakipi and Lowabok Villages. He also visited Lourenkali and Loliyo Villages. Seven people accepted Christ when he shared the Gospel. He is encouraging them to share their faith with others and join Lighthouses. He is encouraging the new believers to join a Lighthouse. He distributed 8 Audio Bibles, and 3 DMM Signage bookmarks. Amos is training 3 believers how to become Champions. They are eager to learn more and share the Gospel message with others. 3 Lighthouses groups have been established in these 3 villages with 30 disciples attending. Amos is grateful for the rains that have come and asks for prays for peace between the Toposa and the neighboring Buye and Murle tribes.

    October

    In Oct0ber, Amos revisited Chori, Lokwakipi and Lowabok Villages. Five people accepted Christ when he shared the Gospel. He is encouraging them to share their faith with others and join Lighthouses. He is encouraging the new believers to join a Lighthouse. He distributed 8 Audio Bibles, and 8 DMM Signage bookmarks. Amos is training 3 believers how to become Champions. They are eager to learn more and share the Gospel message with others. 3 Lighthouses groups have been established in these 3 villages with 30 disciples attending. Amos is grateful for the rains that have come and asks for prays for peace between the Toposa and the neighboring Buye and Murle tribes.

    September

    In September, Amos revisited Chori, Lokwakipi and Lowabok Villages. Two people accepted Christ when he shared the Gospel. He is encouraging them to share their faith with others and join Lighthouses. He is encouraged in the villagers interest in learning more about the Christian faith. He distributed 4 Audio Bibles, 1 hard-copy Bible, and 3 DMM Signage bookmarks. Amos is training 3 believers how to become Champions. They are eager to learn more and share the Gospel message with others. 3 Lighthouses groups have been established in 3 villages with 30 disciples attending. Amos is grateful for the rains that have come and asks for prays for peace and reconciation under the current political leadership.

    August

    In August, Amos revisited Chori and Lowabok Villages. He also visited Louren kali Village. He is encouraging them to share their faith with others and join Lighthouses. He is encouraged in the villagers interest in learning more about the Christian faith. Three people accepted Christ this month. Amos is training 3 believers how to become Champions. They are eager to learn more and share the Gospel message with others. 3 Lighthouses groups have been established in 3 villages with 30 disciples attending. Amos is grateful for the rains that have come and asks for pray for safety as their are still issues of insecurity.

    July

    In July, Amos revisited Chori, Lowabok, and Lokwakipi Villages. He also revisited Louren kali Village. His relationship with the people is growing and 5 people accepted Christ this month. He will be following up with them in their walk with Christ and encouraging them to share their faith stories with others. Amos is training 3 believers how to become Champions. They are eager to learn more and share the Gospel message with others. 3 Lighthouses groups have been established in 3 villages with 30 disciples attending. Amos is grateful for the rains that have come and asks for pray for safety as their are still issues of insecurity.

    June

    May

    In May, Amos revisited Choroi, Lowabok and Lokwakipi Villages. He also visited a new village, Louren kali. Four people accepted Christ and 5 people were baptized! He is encouraging them to be prayer warriors. He plans to spend more time following up with the new Christians in their walk with Christ. Amos is training 4 believers how to become Champions. They are eager to learn more and share the Gospel message with others. 3 Lighthouses groups have been formed this month. He was able to distribute 7 DMM signage bookmarks. Amos asks that you pray with him for the Team’s safety as their are insecurity issues as the team travels in Toposa.

    April

    In April, Amos revisited Choroi, Lowabok and Lokwakipi Villages and 2 people were saved this month. He is encouraging them to be prayer warriors. He plans to spend more time following up with them in their walk with Christ. Amos is training 4 believers how to become Champions. They are eager to learn more and share the Gospel message with others. 3 Lighthouses groups have been formed this month. He was able to distribute 10 Audio Bibles. Amos is looking for a communal space that the groups can meet to worship. He asks that you pray with him for the Team’s safety as their are insecurity issues as the team travels in Toposa.

    March

    In March, Amos visited Choroi, Lowabok, Lokwakipi and Lourenkali Villages. The proposed Champions are eager and thirsty to begin training so that they can effectively share the truths of the Gospel with their fellow villagers. He asks that you pray with him to make the time to do follow-up with those who have accepted Christ and also for setting time to train the Champions.  He is grateful for your continued support and also for the rains that have come in Toposaland.

    February

    In February, Amos visited Choroi, Lowabok and Lokwakipi Villages and 5 people were saved this month. He is encouraging them to be prayer warriors. He plans to spend more time following up with them in their walk with Christ. Amos is training 4 believers how to become Champions and is anxious to show them the DMM tools that will aid in their mission to share the Gospel message with others. He asks that you pray with him for the Team’s safety as their are insecurity issues as the team travels in Toposa.


    2022

    NOvember

    In November, Amos continued sharing the Gospel in Choroi, Lowabok, and Lokwakipi Villages. Amos is still training 4 believers to become Champions and following up with the new believers in these villages. He is grateful for the rains they have been receiving. He asks for your prayers for safety of the team as they travel to villages as there has been some unrest in the area.

    October

    In October, Amos continued sharing the Gospel in Choroi, Lowabok, and Lokwakipi Villages. Amos is still training 4 believers to become Champions. He is grateful for the rains they have been receiving. He is looking for a place to have communal meeting to share the Gospel.

    September

    In September, Amos continued sharing the Gospel and developing relationships in 3 Toposa villages – Lopeat-lokwalem, Choroi, and Lokwakipi. 7 more people accepted Christ as Savior, and 15 believers were baptized! Amos is still training 4 believers to become Champions. He is grateful for the rains they have been receiving.

    August

    In August, Amos continued sharing the Gospel and developing relationships in Choroi and Lokwakipi Villages. 7 more people accepted Christ as Savior. There are still 4 believers being trained to be Champions; they should be forming Lighthouses soon. Amos’ plan is to find a place for communal meetings to share the Gospel. Amos prays for water and for a health dispensary in the area that he serves.

There are 3 believers being trained to be Champions; they should be forming Lighthouses soon. Amos prays for water and for a health dispensary in the area that he serves.

    March

    In March, Amos shared the Gospel in 3 Toposa villages – Lopeat- lokwalem, Choroi, and Lokwakipi. The reception has been great, and discipling believers has begun. Amos prays for water and for a health dispensary in the area that he serves.


    2021

    September

    In September, Amos and the rest of the Toposa Missionary Team attended driving lessons and received their new motorbikes. The Team will head to Toposa soon to continue with surveying, evangelizing, and establishing their mission base. Amos has handed off leadership of his churches in Turkanaland to a trained pastor, Boniface Lodaan Lopae. More information on Boniface and the churches/villages he serves will be available soon.

    August

    In August, Motivator Amos held services in both churches. About 81 members attended each Sunday in the mother church, and 81 attended in the daughter church. Amos is grateful for the continued support from his sponsor. He is hoping to receive his passport soon so he can join the 7 other missionaries on the outreach to Toposa, South Sudan.

    July

    In July, Motivator Amos did an outreach in Lopaka Village this month and 6 people accepted Christ. Aproximately 70 members attended services each week in the mother church in Nakoros Village and 74 members in the daughter church in Lobokat Village this month. Amos is planning an outreach to Nakoyo Village (17 kms/10.6 miles away) in August of this year. He is grateful for the continued support from his sponsor and asks that you pray with him that more people would accept the Gospel message. He has been working on completing his paperwork for his new mission field in South Sudan. He will be leaving for his new assignment soon. 

    June

    In June, Motivator Amos did an outreach in Nakitoe-Kiron Village this month and 7 people accepted Christ. Aproximately 74 members attended services each week in the mother church in Nakoros Village and 80 members in the daughter church in Lobokat Village. Amos is planning an outreach to Kaitelem Village (9 kms/5.6 miles away) in July of this year. He is grateful for the continued support from his sponsor and asks that you pray with him for rain for this drought stricken area. He has been working on completing his paperwork for his new mission field in South Sudan. He will be leaving for his new assignment, in July. 

    May

    In May, Motivator Amos did an outreach in Nateloi Village this month and 6 people accepted Christ. Aproximately 97 members attended services each week in the mother church in Nakoros Village and 104 members in the daughter church in Lobokat Village. Amos is planning an outreach to Naketoi-kirion Village (21 kms/13 miles away) in June of this year. He is grateful for the continued support from his sponsor and asks that you pray with him for clean drinking water for this area. Amos is completing his paperwork so that he can leave for his new mission field of South Sudan by the end of June.

    April

    In April, Motivator Amos did an outreach in Nakitoe-Kiron Village this month and 4 people accepted Christ. Aproximately 67 members attended services each week in the mother church in Nakoros Village and 75 members in the daughter church in Lobokat Village. Amos is planning an outreach to Lopuyoi Village (14 kms/8.7 miles away) in June of this year. He is grateful for the continued support from his sponsor and asks that you pray with him for rain for this drought stricken area. On April 25th, he was commissioned along with 14 other missionaries to be embassadors of the Gospel to the Toposa People of South Sudan. He will be leaving for his new assignment, hopefully by the end of June.
