Turkana men are often more difficult to reach with the Gospel than women and children, due to their strong beliefs in the Turkana traditions (such as witchcraft and worshipping the moon and stars). However, when a man of a village accepts Christ as Savior, he can lead his family and other men in the ways of Christ! There are only about 1,000 Turkana men attending church regularly in the SHARE-planted churches throughout Turkanaland, but more than half of these men are also involved in Lighthouses where they are learning how to share their faith with others.
