Beginning 2025, Share International will transition from a US-centric organization to one that is operated, governed and led by the indigenous people in Turkana (Kenya), Toposa (South Sudan) and Nyang’atom (Ethiopia). We have written to you about this before as this has been our goal for many years. We are pleased to say that our dream is finally coming to fruition. Beginning in 2025, the Share USA organization will become an equipping-focused organization, whose primary purpose is to fund the acquisition, distribution and deployment of Gospel tools (we call them Bible Kits) consisting of a solar audio or hard-copy Bible, DMM signage bookmarks, and DMM instruction manuals for use in the remote villages in Kenya, South Sudan, and Ethiopia. These kits, once distributed, will be used in small group gatherings (Lighthouses), churches, Adult Literacy centers, Next-Gen Sending Centers and individual villages to strengthen the faith of believers who will carry on the task of making disciples who make disciples. In addition, we will acquire several projectors for screening The Jesus Film as well as vehicles and motorbikes.
In 2025, our goal is to purchase and deploy at least 7,000 Bible Kits across the 3 tribes we currently minister to. The bundled cost of these materials is approximately $50 per kit and includes the physical cost of the Bible and collateral materials, the cost to distribute them and the cost to train people in their use. Approximately 3,500 Bible Kits will be deployed in Turkana, 2,000 in Toposa and 1,500 in Nyang’atom in 2025, at an aggregate cost of approximately $350,000.
Our 3-year goal is to distribute 25,000 Bible Kits. At a cost of $1,250,000, this is the most aggressive campaign Share has ever launched. But, we are convinced that the Word of God is the most tangible and compelling tool that God has given us and that it alone is enough to keep the Gospel fire going throughout the region. Through our missionaries and leaders, supported by the power of the Holy Spirit, these Bible Kits will accelerate the Gospel message among the Turkana, Toposa and Nyang’atom tribes. We are confident and assured by the fact that His Word “…will never return void. It will accomplish the purpose for which it was sent” (Isaiah 55:11). This makes our Bible Kit investment one that will not fail.
We are at an exciting time in the Share ministry. As the indigenous leaders continue to advance the mission and vision of Share, we in the US can now support them by providing the tools needed to sustain and accelerate the disciple-making movement that was launched nearly 30 years ago. Won’t you come alongside us in this endeavor? Be a part of the 3-year, 25,000 Bible Kit goal? Kindly make your donation toward any number of Bible Kits to help us finish the task of reaching the unreached for Christ and building up the Body of Christ throughout East Africa.
May God receive all the glory for the great things He has done (and will continue to do) through Share International.
