STORM-2025
July 11-20th

This year’s STORM Team, comprising of 21 committed Christians, traveled to three villages in three different Share zones of Turkanaland to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and encourage believers in their faith. The journey was life-changing for both the STORM participants and for those that received the Good News!

NAYUU VILLAGE
(Chokchok Zone, 10 miles from the SEND Center in Lodwar)

On Sunday evening, prior to the STORM Team’s arrival, the Share staff brought the light of Christ to Nayuu Village through a showing of The Jesus Film. A total of 165 villagers gathered, many hearing this Good News for the very first time! By the end of the evening, 39 hearts were transformed, choosing to become followers of Jesus.

The next morning, the Share staff and STORM participants loaded into five vehicles and braved the rugged drive back into the village. Though the distance was short, the rough roads made the journey about 30 minutes.

God’s Spirit had already been moving ahead of them. That day, the team witnessed a remarkable harvest: 572 men, women, and children came to hear the Gospel, and 77 surrendered their lives to Christ. On Tuesday, another 444 gathered, with 9 more responding to the call of salvation.

The mission in Nayuu reached a glorious conclusion with a baptism service. Thirty-two new believers declared publicly through baptism what Christ had done in their hearts. Their testimonies were a beautiful reminder that the Gospel is alive and powerful, bringing light into even the most remote places. To God be the glory for the great things He has done in Nayuu!

NAOTIN VILLAGE
(Sopel Zone, 7 miles from the SEND Center)

On Tuesday evening, the Share staff delivered the Good News to Naotin Village through a screening of The Jesus Film. Around 250 people gathered to watch the story of Jesus unfold on the screen. By the end of the night, 48 souls had surrendered their lives to Christ.

The very next morning, the STORM Team arrived to join in the work God was already doing. That Wednesday, the Gospel was proclaimed to 634 men, women, and children, and 58 responded in faith to Christ’s call. On Thursday, another 426 villagers came to hear, with 13 more decisions for Christ.

Their time in Naotin concluded with a baptism service, where 38 believers stepped into the water to publicly declare their new life in Christ. To help nurture these new disciples, the team also distributed Audio Bibles – an invaluable gift that will strengthen faith and anchor the local church.

Praise God that Naotin is not left without shepherding! An established pastor and congregation are already present to guide, disciple, and encourage these new believers as they grow in their walk with the Lord. To Him be all glory for the harvest He has brought in Naotin!

SIKE VILLAGE
(Nayada Zone, 43 miles from the SEND Center)

Sike Village was previously unreached, with no established church. On Friday morning, the STORM Team set out from the SEND Center, prepared to spend the night in this unreached village. The journey took about an hour and a half, but God had already prepared the way.

That day, 332 villagers gathered to hear the Good News, and 79 received Christ as their Savior. As evening fell, The Jesus Film was screened. Though only 47 attended the showing, 13 of them turned their hearts to Christ and received salvation. The next day, another 314 gathered for ministry teachings, and 27 more hearts turned to Christ.

The team also witnessed the deep physical need in Sike, as many villagers suffered from severe malnutrition. As the Bread of Life was nourishing hungry souls, the team distributed beans and corn to nourish hungry bodies.

The mission in Sike concluded with 96 baptisms. And in that moment, what was once an unreached village became the birthplace of a new church! Audio Bibles were distributed to strengthen this new body of believers, ensuring that the Word of God would continue to be heard in every home. From unreached to redeemed, from empty to overflowing, Sike now has a living testimony that Jesus saves. All glory to God!
