AUGUST 2025

So the churches were strengthened in the faith and grew daily in numbers.
– Acts 16:5

STORM-2025
July 11-20th

This year’s STORM Team, comprising of 21 committed Christians, traveled to three villages in three different Share zones of Turkanaland to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and encourage believers in their faith. The journey was life-changing for both the STORM participants and for those that received the Good News!

In last month’s bulletin, we highlighted some of the amazing things the Lord did through the STORM Team from the STORMers’ own perspectives (if you missed it, no worries, click here to view). In this month’s edition, we will dive into the results from each of the three villages.

NAYUU VILLAGE
(Chokchok Zone, 10 miles from the SEND Center in Lodwar)

On Sunday evening, prior to the STORM Team’s arrival, the Share staff brought the light of Christ to Nayuu Village through a showing of The Jesus Film. A total of 165 villagers gathered, many hearing this Good News for the very first time! By the end of the evening, 39 hearts were transformed, choosing to become followers of Jesus.

The next morning, the Share staff and STORM participants loaded into five vehicles and braved the rugged drive back into the village. Though the distance was short, the rough roads made the journey about 30 minutes.

God’s Spirit had already been moving ahead of them. That day, the team witnessed a remarkable harvest: 572 men, women, and children came to hear the Gospel, and 77 surrendered their lives to Christ. On Tuesday, another 444 gathered, with 9 more responding to the call of salvation.

The mission in Nayuu reached a glorious conclusion with a baptism service. Thirty-two new believers declared publicly through baptism what Christ had done in their hearts. Their testimonies were a beautiful reminder that the Gospel is alive and powerful, bringing light into even the most remote places. To God be the glory for the great things He has done in Nayuu!

NAOTIN VILLAGE
(Sopel Zone, 7 miles from the SEND Center)

On Tuesday evening, the Share staff delivered the Good News to Naotin Village through a screening of The Jesus Film. Around 250 people gathered to watch the story of Jesus unfold on the screen. By the end of the night, 48 souls had surrendered their lives to Christ.

The very next morning, the STORM Team arrived to join in the work God was already doing. That Wednesday, the Gospel was proclaimed to 634 men, women, and children, and 58 responded in faith to Christ’s call. On Thursday, another 426 villagers came to hear, with 13 more decisions for Christ.

Their time in Naotin concluded with a baptism service, where 38 believers stepped into the water to publicly declare their new life in Christ. To help nurture these new disciples, the team also distributed Audio Bibles – an invaluable gift that will strengthen faith and anchor the local church.

Praise God that Naotin is not left without shepherding! An established pastor and congregation are already present to guide, disciple, and encourage these new believers as they grow in their walk with the Lord. To Him be all glory for the harvest He has brought in Naotin!

SIKE VILLAGE
(Nayada Zone, 43 miles from the SEND Center)

Sike Village was previously unreached, with no established church. On Friday morning, the STORM Team set out from the SEND Center, prepared to spend the night in this unreached village. The journey took about an hour and a half, but God had already prepared the way.

That day, 332 villagers gathered to hear the Good News, and 79 received Christ as their Savior. As evening fell, The Jesus Film was screened. Though only 47 attended the showing, 13 of them turned their hearts to Christ and received salvation. The next day, another 314 gathered for ministry teachings, and 27 more hearts turned to Christ.

The team also witnessed the deep physical need in Sike, as many villagers suffered from severe malnutrition. As the Bread of Life was nourishing hungry souls, the team distributed beans and corn to nourish hungry bodies.

The mission in Sike concluded with 96 baptisms. And in that moment, what was once an unreached village became the birthplace of a new church! Audio Bibles were distributed to strengthen this new body of believers, ensuring that the Word of God would continue to be heard in every home. From unreached to redeemed, from empty to overflowing, Sike now has a living testimony that Jesus saves. All glory to God!

In June, the Nyang’atom Missionary Team shared the Gospel in 28 villages. The people were open and eager to hear the Good News, and 32 individuals gave their lives to Christ. Although baptisms could not take place due to the scarcity of water, new believers were encouraged to join one of the established Lighthouses for discipleship. The team also distributed 15 Audio Bibles and 15 DMM signage bookmarks to new believers.

In July, the team visited 30 villages, sharing the Gospel in each one. As a result, 26 people gave their lives to Christ. These villages will be revisited every two weeks to provide further teaching and encouragement. The people continue to be eager and thirsty for God’s Word. To help them grow, 12 Audio Bibles and 10 DMM signage bookmarks were distributed.

The team has now trained 105 Champions, who are discipling 983 believers in 30 Lighthouses across different villages! Disciples are encouraged to share their testimonies with neighbors and grow in their faith by listening to their solar-powered Audio Bibles.

Please pray with us that the DMM & Next-Gen Training happening this month will be fruitful, equipping those who attend to faithfully disciple others. The team gives thanks for the much-needed rains that have recently come!

In June, the Toposa Missionary Team ministered in 36 previously reached villages and 14 new villages. During these outreaches, 28 people gave their lives to Christ. Although no baptisms could be held due to the lack of water, new believers were encouraged to share their faith with neighbors, participate in prayer walks, and attend discipleship training in their local Lighthouses. The team also distributed 18 Audio Bibles and 18 DMM signage bookmarks to equip new believers.

Excitingly, two new churches were planted in June—one in Naminatoit Village under John Aponi, and another in Napingoroko Village under Philip Ikaale. This brings the total to six permanent churches in Toposaland since the team began ministry there in 2021! Please continue to pray for these congregations as the team nurtures and empowers them.

In July, the church in Toposaland continued to grow. The missionaries revisited 40 villages and reached 14 new villages. As a result, 43 people gave their lives to Christ. Though baptisms were again not possible due to water scarcity, the team encouraged villages with many Lighthouses to come together and form new churches. That month, the team distributed another 30 Audio Bibles and 16 DMM signage bookmarks.

Currently, there are 159 trained Champions discipling 1,352 disciples through Lighthouses established in 101 villages! The team began a month-long furlough on August 15th to rest, spend time with family, and visit their home churches. Continue to pray for peace and reconciliation among tribes in South Sudan and that every barrier to the spread of the Gospel will be broken in the powerful Name of Jesus.

Bringing the Gospel to Those That Have Never Heard!

All around the globe, many individuals live without the hope and peace that comes from knowing Jesus Christ. Our mission at Share is to reach out to them, one person, one community at a time. As the Apostle Paul reminds us in Romans 10:14, “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?” When people hear the Gospel – The Good News – and find salvation in Christ, it brings glory to God. Their lives are transformed; they become part of God’s Family and begin to worship and serve Him.

Preaching the Gospel is a way to participate in God’s plan to draw people closer to Him and bring Him honor. At its very heart, preaching the Gospel is much more than just sharing words; it’s a mission driven by love, obedience, and a profound belief that this message is the most important and life-changing news anyone could ever hear and receive.

We have an important call and mission before us between now and the end of 2025, vis-à-vis, to achieve our goal of raising $350,000 to support our cause of providing 7,000 Bible Kits that constitute presenting a wholesome Gospel to those who are yet to hear the Good News. These kits are more than just books; they serve as powerful instruments of change. The Word of God is vibrant and impactful (Hebrews 4:12), and each kit carries the story of Jesus to someone who has never encountered it before, igniting a wave of hope throughout their community.

Your support is essential in making this happen. By contributing to this cause today, you’re not just donating; you’re sharing the Spoken, Living Word of God and helping to transform a life for good.

Sincerely,

Dalmas Esekon,

Director, Share International, Inc.
