In April 2021, SHARE commissioned Stephen along with 14 other missionaries to begin outreach to the Toposa people of South Sudan. Joseph is originally from Turkana but has previously evangelized in Toposa and speaks the Toposa language fluently. He has assisted in 11 church plants.
