Praises & Petitions from Turkanaland: 12/6

DECEMBER 6TH, 2021
There are 30 trained Adult Literacy (AL) teachers teaching over 1,000 students how to read and write in 8 of the 10 Zones of Turkanaland. All of the teachers are DMM Champions of their own Lighthouses as well. A total of 405 AL students attend these Lighthouses where they are learning how to make disciples of others. A total of 22 students are Champions of their own Lighthouses! They share what they learn in AL with their disciples whilst training them how to be disciple-makers.
TESIMONY

Before I received Christ as Savior, my soul was lost, and I didn’t know about God. Someone I knew invited me to church, and I said, “What is so great about church?”. Even my mother tried to get me to come to church and I refused. I asked her, “What will I gain from going to church? Is there something to eat there?”. But one day, I finally decided to come along. Pastor Peter Ingolan was teaching God’s Word under a big tree before the church was constructed. He was saying that there are still many people in the village who are living in darkness because they haven’t received Christ as Savior. I decided to get saved and started going to church regularly.
Later, I was baptized by the pastor and received my new name, William Ekaru Eng’or. I started pursuing my secondary-level education, teaching discipleship in the church, and assisting with church activities. After completing Secondary School education, SHARE International requested me to be an Adult Literacy teacher. So, I started teaching people at the church how to read and write. I also started my own Lighthouse which has 6 disciples attending. I use my DMM Manual, signage bookmark, and Audio Bible when teaching both my AL class and Lighthouse. I request more materials so I can distribute them to those I teach. I praise God for enabling me to teach His Word through literacy. I also thank Share International for supporting me in doing God’s work. Thank you for spreading the Word of God, and praise be to God!
